Do's

1. Be consistent. If you are skipping some days, you may not get results.

2. Take a shower/ wash your skin every time before application

3. Use any Spf 50 Sunscreen when going out during the daytime. If you do not use sunscreen, the sun will darken your skin, therefore you will not see results at all. You MUST use sunscreen otherwise you might get permanent hyperpigmentation.

4. If possible, please wear clothes that cover up your skin e.g long sleeved tops. If not, you must apply sunscreen to any exposed parts.

5. Shave your skin. This is actually a must. You must get rid of hair on your skin before applying a skin lightening cream. Hair blocks the penetration of skin lightening ingredients. It also blocks your ultimate glow. So either shave/wax before using the product and wait 48 hours after waxing or shaving. Even if you have very short body hair, you must shave/wax it off first if you want to get great results.

6. Apply a generous amount. Don't be skimpy/stingy with the product on your body. Just apply the way you apply regular lotions, not too much, not too little. Making sure you cover your body up properly with the lotion.

7. Apply it twice a day: morning and evening.

8. Use it less often once you get your desired results. The way this cream works is that the more you continue using it, the lighter you continue to get. So once you get to where you want in terms of the lightening level, start using it less often eg once a day.

9. Since this cream has no acids. You must purchase an exfoliant to work with it. Any body exfoliants that work for you would be fine. However, for best results, we recommend you use a body scrub 2 times a week. This is a strong lotion which can still work without exfoliation, though exfoliation gets you faster and more even toned results. So acid exfoliants might be too harsh when used in combination with this lotion. However listen to your skin. If it gets irritated by acid exfoliants stop or reduce usage. Pairs best with our Dead Skin Salt Scrub.

10. Rub in the lotion well into your skin. Don't apply as if you are applying face powder. Lol. Rub it in well/ massage it into your skin until you feel a bit of heat on your skin.

11. Keep away from sunlight and heat. Sunlight and heat destroy the potency of your products and eventually they stop working. Keep in a dark cool place eg inside a drawer

12. If you are currently using our night body cream at night, then you can use this lotion during the day and the night body cream at night.

13. In case of any irritation or discomfort while using the product, stop using it immediately and seek medical help if it escalates.

14.You can occlude with this cream on the days you are not exfoliating because this cream has no acids. This means applying the cream on your skin then wrapping it with a black polythene bag/wearing a black sauna suit.

Don'ts

1. Don't apply immediately after shaving/ any hair removal process. Wait for at least 24-48 hours after shaving.

2. Don't use if you are pregnant or lactating/ breastfeeding. As you know there are many things that pregnant women can not use that regular people can use. eg certain painkillers. Not to mean that those painkillers are bad because pregnant women can't take them. It simply means it's not for them. Hope you understand this. You need to confirm with your doctor first. We do not give advise to pregnant or lactating mothers. Consult your doctor for that.

3. DON'T use on the face. It is not safe for use on the face at all. For face use the shixglow face products

4.DON'T mix with other creams, lotions or serums etc. Use it on its own as it is.

5. DON'T apply on broken skin or freshly peeled skin or after a chemical peel. any areas that have any irritation, rashes, healing wounds, deep scratches etc. should be avoided. Alternatively you can use your cream after these areas have healed if you find it hard to skip them.

6.DON'T skip a single day. Consistency is what gets you results. However since this lotion is very strong, after every 2 weeks you have to take time to skin build. After 2 weeks you need to take 3 days to skin build and then continue using it after those 3 days. This means using a regular lotion (preferably a collagen based lotion) during the day. And going heavy with applying butters and oils in the evening. Preferably our healing body butter. After applying the oils wait at least one hour before getting to bed to give the oils/butters time to absorb into your skin. You will notice that after that one hour your skin will be less greasy/less oily because the oils will have absorbed into your skin. Make sure the butters and oils you are using during this skin building stage are plain/raw/natural; meaning they do not have any skin lightening ingredients.

7. Don't forget to take a before picture for your own personal comparison. At times it is hard to see progress until you look at an old pic. It could be a pic of you hands, legs etc. Make sure to take it in the same spot eg your bedroom/ bathroom, or sitting room etc... because different lights affects how bright skin looks like. Then after one month take another picture. Then put them side by side on your phone and compare. That is how you truly know if you have lightened or not.
